The Neu-Vita Oculizer, or Sight Restorer, was used in all cases of vision impairment. This apparatus is a wonderful piece of early 20th century quackery where the patient uses one of the following devices (Regular and Deluxe Models) to massage both eyes simultaneously to improve vision and avoid the destructive effects of reading glasses resulting from their continued use thereby weakening the eyes. Supported by extra medication sight charts instructions and personal messages to purchasers and of course personal affidavits. The underlying philosophy is that massage imitates by manipulation the processes of active exercise by determining a flow of blood to revivify and strengthen any affected portion of the body. The company also provided rubber eye baths and irrigating solutions.[1]
